Dr. Emily Bautista

Dr. Emily Bautista, a passionate advocate for educational justice, draws from her experiences as a student organizer at UCLA. Over the past decade, she expanded access to ethnic studies in Los Angeles public schools as a teacher, school leader, and organizer. Currently serving as Assistant Principal at Venice High School, Dr. Emily also teaches courses in ethnic studies pedagogy and contributes to national education organizing. Her research, rooted in critical pedagogy and transformative youth organizing, informs her consulting work for organizations committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
